nipaluna/Hobart

Selling fast!

We're thrilled to announce our two keynote speakers for our 2024 NRW breakfast in nipaluna/Hobart on Friday 31 May:

SHANE HOWARD - former Goanna band frontman, award-winning musician, and long-time reconciliation activist and;

GED WATTS - a young palawa man who grew up immersed in cultural activities on Country, and whose powerful speech on reconciliation in the lead up to the Voice referendum drew a standing ovation.

Shane has been a vocal ally of First Nations people's right to justice and self-determination for more than 40 years. As a member of Goanna, he penned the anthemic song 'Solid Rock' which became a foundation song for the path toward truth telling.

Shane and Ged will also perform during the breakfast, and tickets are selling fast.

Be sure to book early to secure your spot.

The event runs from 7am to 9am. Please arrive between 6.15 - 6.30AM to be seated by 6.45AM.

The NRW theme for 2024 is Now More Than Ever: reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.

Reconciliation Tasmania NRW Breakfast is our biggest yearly event. Note, this year we are holding a single event only, in nipaluna/Hobart.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their support: Hydro Tasmania, Forico, University of Tasmania, KeyAssets, Snap Printing, TasWater and Libraries Tasmania.
