MSBA Outdoor Cinema 2026

Christmas Edition

Stars above. Grass below. River breeze in the air.

This December, MyState Bank Arena is launching something brand new: our very first Outdoor Cinema Series.

We're transforming the riverside lawn into Hobart's cosiest open-air movie theatre, with a Christmas double bill under the stars. Whether you're after a relaxed family afternoon or a night out with friends, grab a blanket, find your spot on the grass and settle in for a night of movies, food and fun by the river.

Food & Drink

No need to pack the snacks. We've got you covered.

The bar will be open for the 7pm MA15+ double feature, serving beer, wine, cider and other refreshments. Alcohol is available to guests aged 18+ with valid ID.

Soft drink, water, tea and coffee will also be available for all sessions.

What to Bring

• A picnic blanket, cushions or a low-back beach-style chair to keep sightlines clear for everyone behind you
• A jacket or throw rug for once the sun goes down – river evenings can turn cool, even in December
• A credit or debit card for food, drinks and bar purchases – MyState Bank Arena is a cashless venue

Gates open 30 minutes before each session, so come early, grab your favourite patch of grass and settle in before the movie starts.
